Home Care Packages and Consumer Directed Care (CDC) Increased funding for Home Care Packages Programme From 1 July 2015, all Home Care Packages will be offered on a CDC basis.

Defining CDC

CDC is not new CDC was trialled in 2010/11 for two years across 1,000 Home Care Packages. From 1 August 2013 all Home Care Packages allocated to providers have been offered on a Consumer Directed Care basis. Since 1 August 2013 various support mechanisms have been available to the sector to assist with the transition to CDC.

Making CDC work for you CDC provides an opportunity to reconsider the business and delivery processes in light of changing consumer expectations. The way home care providers have arranged their business models for the introduction of CDC will change as their practices mature.
