Interactive Student Notebook Students are using an ISN this year in Social Studies It is an 8.5 x 11 spiral notebook The ISN is meant to promote creative, independent thinkers and writers. Interactive notebooks are used for class notes, as well as for other activities where students are asked to express their own ideas and process the information presented in class. Right side = teacher side (notes, articles, vocab, etc) Left side = student side (creative assignments to process what they learned/show what they know) MOST, but not all, assignments are completed in the ISN. Most practice activities are not in the ISN, but kept in their binder They need it in class everyday!

CURRENT EVENTS! Students will be required to complete a current event roughly every 2 weeks I will post on my website and send Kiku Texts when current events are due They should use a newspaper article or news article found online The article should not be more than ONE week old from when it is due They must print and attach the article to their write-up and highlight at least important 3 facts in the article The write-up templates are available to print on my website We have done one together in every class so they understand the expectations Some weeks, I will provide students with a topic My website has all the info you need!

Thank you for coming! Any questions, comments, or concerns? I look forward to a productive and fun year of learning! Please feel free to contact me anytime!
