NSWIS Program Purpose Role of NSWIS in the National Pathway Supporting daily training needs of athletes competing at International and National level in open and junior categories with a dedicated Emerging Talent Program. The major competition focus is Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, World Cup, Champions Trophy, Junior World Cup and Australian Youth Olympic Festival.

National Athlete Pathway

Scholarship Program Total scholarships: Up to 20 Men & 20 Women selected in January each year following selection of national teams World Performance – Gold Scholarship Tier 1 – World Class Senior - Member of the National squad competing at International level in benchmark and/or other international events and capable of maintaining this level of performance ie: generally national team world ranking 1-4 (‘likely or possible’ medalist at key major benchmark events) Tier 2 – International Class Senior - Progressing towards World Class Performance within cycle International Development – Silver Scholarship Development Squad – Member of the Development Squad capable of reaching Senior squad status within 1-3 years NTC Identified Athlete – NTC identified athlete with potential to progress to development squad within 1-2 years

Emerging / Potential International – Green Scholarship Junior Squad (Born ) - Nationally identified athlete targeted for immediate JWC campaign (2013) with the potential to represent Australia at the JMW Qualifier/JWC tournament and/or ability to progress to Developing International or International Class athlete status within 1-4 years Futures 2016 TID Group (Born ) – Nationally identified athlete with potential to progress to international class athlete status within 4-7 years NTC Identified Athlete – NTC identified athlete with the potential to progress to the Junior Squad and/or Futures group within 1-2 years Scholarship Program Total scholarships: Up to 20 Men & 20 Women selected in January each year following selection of national teams

Emerging Talent Squad NB: Emerging Talent Squad athletes are NOT NSWIS scholarship JWC 2013 Born State identified Nationally endorsed athlete with the ability to progress to Potential International Athlete status within 1-3 years Maximum 20 athletes (men & women) Emerging Talent Squad - Tier 1 Futures 2020 TID Group Born Talented ‘up and comers’ with capability to achieve NSWIS scholarship status and world class performance in the future (progressing within 2 to 3 cycles) Maximum 20 athletes (men & women) Emerging Talent Squad - Tier 2
