3 Open And S3 Scottish Schools Cup: Finals Friday 17 th March  Boys and Girls  Knock Out competition  First rounds will be regionalised  Play by dates: 23 rd Sept 28 th Oct 25 th Nov 3 rd Mar 17 th Mar (Finals at GNHC)

4 Aspire Schools Cup: Emerging Schools Competition  Knockout Schools competition  Preferable to have 2 entries from each district.  Emerging schools and composite school teams. Under 18 age group. RDM identify entrants.  Finals day on Schools Cup Finals date 17 th March.  Play by dates: 23 rd Sept 28 th Oct 25 th Nov 3 rd Mar 17 th Mar (Finals at GNHC)

5 U16 & U18 National Competition 16s- Saturday 10 th June 18s- Sunday 11 th June  Competition will have a development and player participation focus  Encouraging players who do not get the opportunity to play regular club hockey.  Teams will enter and play without international players  Players who regularly play senior 1 st XI hockey (National League Division 1 & 2) are not eligible  Event will be rans as pools and then cross overs leading to final.

6 U18 Indoor Cup Boys-Sunday 15 th January Girls- Saturday 28 th January  National Indoor cup Finals  Regional qualifiers at district level  Open to clubs and Schools

7 U12 Mixed Festival – 6 aside Saturday 3 rd June  Mini Hockey Guidelines  Development and player participation focus and encourage participation at this age group - no players that participate in Inter Districts are eligible  Short-sided / Modified games – following Stix regulations  Open to Clubs, Schools and Districts

8 U14 Mixed Festival- 8 a side Sunday4th June  Development and player participation focus – no players that participate in Inter Districts are eligible  Short-sided / Modified games – following Stix regulations  Open to Clubs, schools and districts

9 Performance Competition  U16/U18 Inter Districts  U14 Inter Districts  U18 Indoor Inter Districts  U16/U18 National Club Cups

10 U16 / U18 Inter Districts Boys 24 th and 25 th September  There will be a maximum entry of 6 Districts: South, Highland, North, Midland, East and West. See competition rules for age restrictions.  The Outdoor Inter-District Competitions serve the following purposes:  Identification of talented athletes for selection into national teams  Enable athletes to compete against the best age-group players in the country  Lead coach must be level 1  By 2019 lead coach must have level 2 with assistant having level 1

11 U16 / U18 Inter Districts Girls 1 st and 2 nd October  The maximum entry will be 7 Districts. See competition rules for age restrictions. The Outdoor Inter-District Competitions serve the following purposes:  Identification of talented athletes for selection into national teams  Enable athletes to compete against the best age-group players in the country  Lead coach must be level 1  By 2019 lead coach must have level 2 with assistant having level 1

12 U16 Regional Performance Event: Logistics 17 th -19 th October  3 day camp in Glasgow  October holidays starting in 2016  Budgets to be worked out but cost to be subsidised through performance budgets  Competition is built into the camp and coaches will deliver a tournament type scenario to the players (e.g video analysis, briefings, debriefs, etc)  Sports science/medicine and understanding talent education workshops for players and parents will be delivered during the three days (specifics to be decided)

13 U16 Regional Performance Event: Objective  Allow the national coaches and in particular the senior national coaches to work with up 64 (each gender) of the best U16 players over the three day period.  Allow the national coaches to share best practice with other coaches who are coaching and assisting on national age group programmes and district teams.  Allow Scottish Hockey to engage with parents of the best 64 players of each gender  Deliver an education programme to be delivered to the players  Allow a further selection event to take place over a three day period so that coaches have a better understanding of the players before national squads are selected at U16 level (training and development squads)  Ensure any player selected for the national team understands the commitments of the national performance programme (weekly training within regions)

14 U14 Inter Districts: 11 aside Boys- Saturday 13 th May Girls- Saturday 20 th May  Boys District Squads competition-6 teams: West, East, Midland, South, Highland and North.  Girls District Squads competition-8 teams: West, East, Midland, North, South, Highland, South West and combined team of placing 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd from previous year.  The Outdoor Inter-District Competitions serve the following purposes:  Identification of talented athletes for selection into national teams  Enable athletes to compete against the best age-group players in the country

15 U16/U18 National Club Cups  Competition will have a focus on club performance squad, To provide a competitive opportunity for Under 18 players  Best players should be available  Rounds run October to April  U18 Pools Day- 23 rd October  U18 Finals Day- 27 th November  U16 Pools Day- 18 th March  U16 Finals Day- 1 st April

16 U18 Indoor Inter Districts Boys- Saturday 11 th Feb Girls- Sunday 12 th Feb (possibility to combine on 11 th )  Bells Sports Centre, Perth  Structure to be confirmed, dependant on entries.  The Indoor Inter-District Competitions serve the following purposes:  Identification of talented athletes for selection into national teams  Enable athletes to compete against the best age-group players in the country
