slide 14 NSDI: Advancing the Fifty States Initiative Implementing Statewide Strategic and Business Plans Category 4: Fifty States Summary Nine awards up to $30,000 each –Recipient matching 50% of the award with funding or in-kind services Eligibility –State, regional (councils of governments), local and Tribal governments, academia, non governmental organizations, utilities, and the private sector may apply. –Coordinated multi-sector responses are strongly encouraged. –Federal agency partnership and support is required (e.g., USDOT, USDA, DOI, etc.) –A regional entity must have the support of the state’s geospatial coordination council. Making Framework Real: Nationally coordinated programs that include collection, documentation, access, and utilization of data are in place for generating framework data themes.

slide 17 NSDI: Advancing the Fifty States Initiative Implementing Statewide Strategic and Business Plans Strategic and Business Planning The Fifty States Initiative has placed importance on outreach to diverse stakeholders, to facilitate coordination and consensus-building A good Strategic Plan clearly articulates the high-level strategic goals that emerge from the planning process, or which are taken as a given based on previous efforts and agreement (Category 3) A good Business Plan provides a clear explanation of how one or more strategic goals are to be implemented by an organization or program (Category 4) If you already have a Strategic Plan, you can apply for assistance to develop one or more Business Plans under Category 4
