General Power Point Tips
Selecting a power point design Two examples of power points have been created by the EEOP staff Can use any one of these two or choose another design Power point has over 20 different designs!!
Choosing colors Use light colored font on dark colored backgrounds. Avoid red text on a blue background – it creates a purple haze. Avoid green text on a red background – hard to read.
Choosing Fonts Choose easy to read fonts like Arial, Verdana, or Tahoma Make font big enough to read For heading, fonts greater than 44 For messages, fonts greater than 28 Word art is good
Other tips Spell check Don’t put too many objects on one slide Use bullets Use phrases NOT sentences
More tips… Use less words – try to limit yourself to 6 words per bullet Limit the slide to six bullets if possible

Slide 4 should have… Tell what you learned What you learned about fire –Be specific –Facts from reading –Info from guest speakers –Info from internet research

Slide 7 should have… Info on how you learned about fire Field trips? Guest speakers? Readings?
Slide 8 should have… What you think should happen in relation to the PBL question presented at the beginning of the week Support your answer –Reason: I think we should not make snow with reclaimed water because… Its harmful to animals Its not clean enough It costs too much
