E-Leadership- It is all about winning Projective view of running approach.

Aiste Budvytyte Centre for Leadership and Organizational Change E-Leadership International Conference

Reasons of E-Leadership development: Interdependent relationship Increasing competition Need for flexibility and borderless Environmental innovativeness Technology miracles Personal demand

Who will be the leaders of the future environment? -Leaders should focus, motivate and enable team to achieve the aims -Leaders should involve accountability and responsibility in their performance for the group -Leaders should be flexible and provide continuity in changes -Leaders should be few steps ahead of their team, but not too far from the team to be able to understand and encourage following -Leaders will require drivers, not only targets -Leaders need a power to overcome obstacles in the most simple and quick way

E-Leadership environment - No stop -Speed -Flexibility -Engage radical ideas -Fast and innovative movements -To pre-empt comfort zone -Adopt a distributive technologies before other actions

The moving target becomes: -Business at the Speed of Though of Technology- Definitions involve: -E-Leadership performance in business -Speed as the synonym of running sport

Objects : 1. Runners 2. Leaders

E-Leadership as a running approach is a continues winning approach without any stop The action of running takes two parts: A.Distance to run B.The end of winning process = breaking the strip The process is common to the E-Leadership approach: A.Process of continues leading B.Winning by breaking the boundaries with a help of technology. The main move is to remove the obstacles that are blocking the progress.

Running: The physiological runner’s body process theory explains that organisms exist because they are able to take energy from their environment and use it to life process. Leadership: Leaders exist, because the are able to use the advantage of the environment and the changes.

“citius-altius-fortius” faster-higher-stronger Athletes: -Challenge to break world records -Face the attempt to break their own personal best results E-Leadership adaptive analysis Leaders: -Should set targets of breaking not only overall results, but break own results with a help of technology

Differences between: poor and elite runner leader and E-Leader Minimal effort Competitiveness Maximum speed

Running technique -A skilled individual uses more energy than unskilled -During the performance a certain of energy is wasted in unnecessary and uncoordinated movements e-Leadership adaptive approach: -To improve performance and avoid energy waste via natural advantages with the use of unnatural - technologies.

Success training programs: -Adopt the general principles to the specific personal needs of individual -Boundaries merger of scientific knowledge and practical experience of the couching -Monitor the progress -Maintain process of progress This leads to: -More economical e-leadership adaptiveness -Stabilizing every step of E-Leadership implementation -Optimization of the performance -Continues improveness and adaptive ness of technology -Stronger flexibility

Running sport researches found that: - Changes are directly related to intensity E-Leadership adaptive approach: -The intensity of E-Leaders progress is a measure -The intensity of E-Leaders progress should be monitored -The monitor and measure of intensity should be included in all actions

Agility- running sport definition -Agility is the characteristics of being able to change direction and position of the body and its parts rapidly -Athletes concern not only running technique but body maneuverability as well -Flexibility measurements are possible because of specific movements that can affect the performance -The results can not be achieved without one or another part of body or action E-Leadership adaptive approach -The right implementation of technology affect the whole process of company and individual leaders performance -Maneuverability to change technology implementation actions -Flexibility to adopt technology -Agility of E-Leadership performance

Force and strength in running / E-Leadership approaches - Strength is fundamental to success -Strength is the ability to apply force -Strength is important to performance because of its relations with other factors -Strength contributes to power -Power is equal to force

Formulas of the power Power = Force (strength) x Velocity (seeped) Power = Force (strength) x Velocity (seeped) Power = Force x Distance/ Time Or Power = Work/ Time Power = E-Leadership

-To increase power would need to increase the strength and speed -Strength and speed are: advantages of using technology in e-leadership external influential factors The circle of E-Leadership: Power (E-Leadership) -> Strength (adopting technologies) -> Speed (how quickly technologies are adopted) -> Power (E-Leadership)

Experimental learning -Experiments in technology adaptation leads to better knowledge of E-Leadership -It is the best method to acquire new skills -It reflects and analyses the current experience and foresees relevant future actions -It leads to build new ideas for improveness, changes and active experimentation -E-Leaders becomes more entrepreneurship using experimental learning E-Learning -It is identification and improveness system of leaders as professional learner earners in a knowledge society using technology

E-leadership in all levels - E-Leadership in all level brings dynamics and diversity -Breaks boundaries and let to spread communication process -Closes the gap between generation -More possibilities to realize full potential of company -Brings greater positive competition -The process becomes more effective an efficient

Future E-Leadership threats: “The technology bubble burst that global economy has felt comfortable in a digital skin” E-Leadership can cause: - increasing competitiveness - increasing interdependency and transparency can develop protectionism - leaders can become carefully distant - ethics problems

Future next step “E-Leadership corporate relations” between public and private sectors Objectives: -To harmonize technology impact to leadership development -To prevent possible negative actions -Create legal system more suitable for Global business world - Create the balance of ethics

E-Leadership positive performance: -effective communication -substantiality of continues optimization of performance -access relevant information -share knowledge and ideas -increase positive competition -opportunity to monitor business and technology performances -improve future performance -prevent negative actions -take corrective actions
