1. Tiew, S Single journal bibliometric studies: A review. Malaysian Journal of Library & Information Science 2 (2): Allen, B., and D. Reser Content analysis in library and information science research. Library & Information Science Research 12 (3): 251– Jarvelin, K., P. Vakkari Content analysis of research articles in library and information science. Library & Information Science Research 12 (4): The analysis was limited to papers and posters presented at ASEE-ELD annual conferences from 2000 to The data were obtained from the annual conference program guides and only papers and posters that included authors in the index of conference program guide were included. The authors, paper titles, affiliations, year, and other bibliographic information were entered into a spreadsheet. The data were then sorted and analyzed in several ways to explore authorship and other bibliometric measures. The papers were categorized based on a standard classification scheme developed by Jarvelin and Vakkari. 3 Textual analysis of the paper and poster titles was performed using Textalyser for word frequencies. Wordle was also used to provide a better visualization of the word frequencies. Analysis of ASEE-ELD Conference Proceedings: David E. Hubbard Texas A&M University Libraries, College Station, Texas Introduction Bibliographic analysis of a single publication can provide valuable insights into a publication. Unlike other single publication studies, contributions to the annual American Society for Engineering Education – Engineering Libraries Division (ASEE-ELD) programs were not systematically indexed. Prior to 2009, the only tangible artifact is often limited to title, author(s), and affiliation. Despite these limitations, various bibliometric measures outlined by Tiew 1 can still be studied and content explored using what Allen and Reser 2 refer to as classification and elemental analyses. Conclusion References The analysis of these conference proceedings posed several challenges compared to other single publication bibliometric studies. One of the most significant trends observed is the increase in co-authorship, especially with faculty outside the library. While the classification was subjective and elemental analysis limited, both pointed to an emphasis on information literacy, information/ reference services, collections, and novel resources. Methodology Results and Discussion  From , there were 258 papers and posters presented at the ASEE-ELD sessions.  There were 170 (66%) papers and 88 (34%) posters (Figure 1).  The majority of the publications (72.5%) were single authored. The number of authors per paper averaged 1.50 and ranged from 1 to 9 authors (Figure 2).  The number of authors for both papers and posters increased from 1 to 2 over the last 10 years (Figures 3 & 4).  Productivity of authors loosely follows Lotka’s Law (Table 1). Figure 6. Wordle of fifty most frequent words in titles of ASEE-ELD papers.  127 institutions presented 258 papers. Those that presented five or more papers/posters are shown in Table 2. Objective Examine authorship and content of the ASEE- ELD papers and posters from to identify trends and assess the state of publication.  While a number of concepts (i.e., words and phrases) surfaced during the textual analysis, there was also a very long tail of words and phrases (Figure 6 and Table 4).  Six types of co-authorship were examined but only the librarian+faculty co-authorship showed statistically significant increase (Figure 5).  Distribution of topics was different between ASEE-ELD papers and professional LIS articles (Table 3).
