How to Uncover Your Purpose
Presentation transcript:

Philosophy of Education:  All students deserve to experience some measure of success. Every student walks in to your classroom with talent, it is your job as the music teacher to help them develop their talent to the fullest potential through variety of experiences in music, and to help them become better people overall.

 “You must make love to music.” Maria Callas, Soprano  In music you only get what you put in to it. No miracles!!!!!!! It takes passion, musicianship, skills, talent, hard work, strong work ethic/discipline, dedication, confidence, will power, patience and moral support in order to be successful in music.  “No body can ever accuse me of not being prepared.” Maria Callas, Soprano. ture=related ture=related

Youth Youth is the perfect time to develop personal expression, and the arts have the ability to satisfy the need for personal expression.  Self-esteem and discipline are two necessities one must develop in order to live a successful life. Music education will help the development of self-discipline and confidence/self-esteem.  It is ok to make mistakes as long as you learn from your mistakes.

Literacy  Students must receive a solid foundation of music before they leave school In order communicate with the audience as performers and vice versa in addition they should also learn to appreciate and respect music.  A literate musician must know what the music is about; comprehend the music in addition to playing it on their instrument or singing the music.

Teaching  Patience! A teacher must have a lot of patience. Just because something is easy for you don’t mean that it’s easy for the students. Look at things from their perspective.  Flexibility-A teacher must be versatile, be able to use various methods of teaching considering that different students learn music differently (Ear, Hand, Eye).  Rather than being an authoritative figure that students fear I want to be approachable for my students. I want the students to learn from me but I also would like to learn from them. I would encourage them to do their besthttp:// ure=relatedhttp:// ure=related
