Presentation transcript:

Writing AT in the IEP Spedtasticators

Writing Technology in the IEP  Annual goal with AT as a supplementary aid.  Susan will use a voice activated computer and printer to complete exercises that other students do with pencil and paper  A description of the type of assistive technology should include enough detail of features without specifying the brand name.

Writing Technology in the IEP  Annual goal with AT as a related service.  As part of his speech therapy program Mark will receive instruction in the effective use of an electronic communication device during social conversation in the regular classroom.

Writing Technology in the IEP  An objective with a specific skill.  Using a computer keyboard, Rachel will type 12 words per minute with no errors over 10 or more consecutive trials.

Writing Technology in the IEP  An objective for a student with a learning disability in written expression.  Using a word processing program with a spell checker, Tom will compose a three paragraph paper composed of 15 or more sentences with a minimum of 80% accuracy.

Writing Technology in the IEP  Create an annual goal or short term objective which includes an AT component.  Use a student you know who could benefit from the device.  Use something from your AT presentation and create a student who could benefit from this.

Writing Technology in the IEP  Are your goals and objectives specific and measurable?
