Mission The aim of the Travel and Tourism program in the International College is to nurture personnel with the knowledge and skills for professional planning and management, combining both theory and practice in travel and tourism related services, so that graduates are not only able to work in the tourism industry, but to improve the quality of this industry and the competitiveness of Taiwan’s International Tourism industry.

Goal The Travel and Tourism Program provides multi-faceted, superior, accessible and affordable instruction and learning opportunities to students covering a wide range of social, psychological, economic and environmental aspects of tourism, leisure, recreation and hospitality. Thus, we prepare educated and productive citizens who can meet the rigorous challenges of an increasingly diverse domestic society and an ever- changing global community. Our goals are as follows:

Program Resources People The most important resources of the Travel and Tourism Program are people: our students, our faculty and our staff. Each faculty member has his/her own research room on campus, weekly offers six office hours for students, and serves as a class advisor. Cooperation with other units All manner of support and resources are provided by the program staff, the International Student Advising Office and International Education and Exchange division. Furthermore, professional advice and consultation are provided by Career Planning and Counseling Center.

Program Resources Library resources The MCU library supports the research endeavors of the students and faculty of Travel and Tourism Program by providing:  898 books in Chinese and 4,340 books in foreign language,  401 types of professional and academic-oriented journals in Chinese and 167 in foreign language,  62 tourism and leisure related databases,  438 types of multi-media data sources and 50 in foreign languages. Moreover, the School of Tourism library is also accessible to students, with a variety of books, magazines, journals, students’ theses and research projects, videos, tapes and so forth.
