19 Professional Information Aims: Aims are the broad intentions and orientation of the programme of study, i.e. what the programme plans to do for the students and how. Goals that are mission driven and which inform ILOs. Written in a general manner expressing broad purposes and intent.

20 Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs) They describe what the students should be able to do or demonstrate, in terms of particular knowledge, skills and attitudes, by the end of the programme. The complete ILOs of the program should be given such that the courses of the programme can be justified. ILO’s : Knowledge and understanding. Intellectual capabilities. Professional and Practical skills. General and Transferable Skills.

21 Academic standards Specific standards decided by the institution, and informed by external references and including the minimum knowledge and skills to be gained by the graduates from the programme and fulfilling the stated mission of the institution. Benchmarking Reference points with which to compare the standards and quality of a programme. Therefore, benchmark statements represent general expectations about the standards of achievement and general attributes to be expected of a graduate in a given subject area.
