some SAS commands you need v need a data file (example.txt) and a program file (example.sas) –make sure the extensions are correct and that the location of the data file is correctly noted in the program –call program steps into Editor (open file) –submit (or F8) –see listing of output (or F7) –check log output (for error checking) F6 –save and print files as needed –clear active window (Ctrl E) 8
