„Description of my Christmas time’’ Preparations for Christmas Christmas Eve Christmas Day Boxing Day

„Preparations for Christmas” Advent – it lasts four weeks before Christmas when everybody can prepare for Jesus Christ’s coming Gifts – I’m preparing presents for my relatives Sending Christmas cards Cleaning Decorating Christmas tree Preparing Christmas dishes (fish - carp, herring and trout, borsch, piroghi, dumplings, etc.) Baking cakes – gingerbread, poppyseed cake, fruit cake, etc.)

„The Christmas Eve” Christmas Eve is one of the most important days in year. When the first star appears in the sky, me and my family will share holy wafer and greet each other. After that we eat Christmas Eve supper and give presents. During supper we eat 12 special dishes (e.g. fish - carp, herring and trout, borsch, piroghi, dumplings, etc.). We always prepare one more plate for an unexpected guest. We always go to a midnight mass on Christmas Eve.

„The Christmas Day” On the Christmas Day I always visit my grandmother, where I meet my uncles, aunts and cousins. We rest and talk a lot. We go to church and celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. I like to watch Christ child’s crib. We also visit my grandparents’ grave.

„The Boxing Day” In the morning I go to church with my family. It’s time to relax and meet with relatives and friends who will visit us. Boxing Day is the last day of Christmas.
