Future Goals to Increase Profitability In the fourth quarter of 2005, MTS launched its Transition Phase II – a two- year, $100 million cost reduction (now raised to 120 million) initiative designed to align its cost structure to the new market realities, and increase profitability. MTS has already achieved $30 million in annualized expense savings as at January 31, On 30 th Sept they had reached $78 million of these savings. On February 28, 2006, MTS announced the implementation of a new management structure that will help the team become a more cohesive organization, move closer to cost savings target, and drive more profitable growth in the marketplace.
