Presentation Tecfa Mandate - Bern - 19/11/ /12/01 What ’s the mandate ? The mandate is mainly aimed at “ improving the quality of the projects in progress, capitalizing the teaching experience of the projects involved in the SVC and establishing the bases for an evaluation of all the projects ” (page 1). Which projects in charge of Tecfa ? Initially those of the French and Italian speaking Switzerland (Fribourg, Genève, Lausanne, Neuchâtel, EPFL et USI)...+ a few projects of German speaking Switzerland.

Presentation Tecfa Mandate - Bern - 19/11/ /12/01 The expected tasks are (page 2) : the development of the support and supervision activities of the SVC projects related to the psycho-pedagogical and methodological aspects of the use the technologies of education ; the constitution of an inventory of the projects by insisting upon the exploitation of the potential of the technologies, upon their integration in the scenarios worked out as well as in the extent to which the projects are innovative and interactive ; the preparation of the bases for an evaluation framework typical of this mode of innovative teaching in collaboration with the national and international community (page 2)

Presentation Tecfa Mandate - Bern - 19/11/ /12/01 Some objectives of the SVC How can Information and communication technologies (ICT) respond to the stakes of higher education in the present context of the knowledge society that is known to call for a redefinition of the teacher role and learner role ? Which strategies to adopt in order to enhance the use of ICT for learning ? What are the teaching and innovating qualities of these practices and how can they be evaluated ? How can such teaching practices be stimulated and supported within the SVC projects? How can the exchanges of practice be favored inside and outside of the institution ?

Presentation Tecfa Mandate - Bern - 19/11/ /12/01 Envisaged actions (specified after analyse of needs) follow-up of the projects : to support an awareness of the practices and their coherence regarding a global context,… ; implementation of a community of practices (web site of resources sharing and discussion group, meeting times) aiming at the exchange of experiences, collaborative sites on specific issues, … ; organization of seminaries with the actors of the projects meeting specific needs encountered ; etc.

To collaborate with teams in charge of the technical and pedagogical support within several projects (the « centre NTE » in Fribourg, the « cenTEF » in Lausanne, etc.) ; To collaborate with the Zurich team in charge of the Mandate (Prof. Oelkers - equality) and teams in charge of the technical support ; At the global level, to collaborate with international projects working on similar topics ; To diffuse our results.
