Peer Health Education Teen2Teen is the March of Dimes health education series for students – and you can be a peer educator with the Teen2Teen Materials! This PPT shows all that Teen2Teen has to offer. To find out more, visit our Web site to watch the videos online and review the curriculum at

teen2teen materials Available in DVD or VHS, video segments can be used by students, teachers, youth leaders, health care providers, religious leaders, student activities directors and community directors to educate teens about health messages that matter to teens. YOU MATTER Learning Objectives: Understand the mission of the March of Dimes and what it means to youth. Identify the important role youth have played in promoting the mission since the 1950’s. List opportunities for youth as March of Dimes volunteers.

TRUTH and CONSEQUENCES Learning Objectives: Understand problems associated with drinking alcohol, smoking, and doing drugs: legal consequences as well as effects on brain development, behavior, and overall health. State how smoking, drinking, and drugs can have negative effects on the health of developing babies. List resources for additional information on the topic.

HEALTHY LIFESTYLES Learning Objectives: Understand the components of a healthy lifestyle: good nutrition, regular exercise, adequate sleep, stress management, positive peer relationships, and making good decisions for your mind and body. State why a healthy lifestyle – of both men and women – is necessary for a healthy pregnancy even before deciding to have a family. List resources for additional information on the topic.

When students participate in service learning leadership through teen2teen, they will: Develop valuable leadership skills through volunteering & event planning (Segment 1) Network with Community and Corporate Leaders (Segment 1, and possibly 2-3) Serve as Role Models for fellow students (Segments 1-3) Participate in volunteer activities that benefit the community (Segments 1-3)
