Alternative Energy Project

Biomass Biomass energy is organic matter that can be burned or decomposed to be used a source of energy.

Nuclear Fusion

Geothermal Energy Geothermal energy is created by harnessing geothermal energy from the Geothermal literally means "earth heat." Geothermal energy harnesses the heat energy present underneath the Earth. Hot rocks under the ground heat water to produce steam. When holes are drilled in the region, the steam that shoots up is purified and is used to drive turbines, which power electric generators.

Wind Power Wind power is produced by using wind generators to harness the kinetic energy of wind.

Solar Power Solar power is produced by collecting sunlight and converting it into electricity.

Wave Power Wave energy is produced when electricity generators are placed on the surface of the ocean. The energy provided is most often used in desalination plants, power plants and water pumps. Energy output is determined by wave height, wave speed, wavelength, and water density.

Tidal Power Tidal energy is produced through the use of tidal energy generators. These large underwater turbines are placed in areas with high tidal movements, and are designed to capture the kinetic motion of the ebbing and surging of ocean tides in order to produce electricity.

Hydrokinetic Hydrokinetic energy — which generates power by using submerged or partially submerged turbines that harness the energy from flowing water. Rivers and ocean currents.

Nuclear Fission

Compressed Natural Gas

Fuel Cell A fuel cell is an electrochemical devise that converts a fuel source into electricity. Fuel cells require a fuel source, but will perform for infinite periods of time if inflows are maintained. Because of this they are different from batteries, which are closed energy storage systems
