How they work Tidal power involves a dam across the opening to a tidal basin. A sluice opens that allows the tide to flow into the basin. As the sea levels drop, the water moves and turns a turbine to generate electricity mation.html - Tidal Power animation mation.html

Advantages Some tidal generators can be built into the structures of existing bridges, involving virtually no problems on how it looks Life of tidal energy plant is very long It is an inexhaustible source of energy

Disadvantages The turbines can accidentally kill swimming sea life with there rotating blades Salt water causes corrosion in metal parts Frozen sea or low weak tides Very few ideal locations

Shipping Container Large reusable steel boxes It is used for the structure of the house Advantages: Ideal building material, and used shipping containers available across globe. Disadvantages: Temperature, building permit, and cargo spillage. Conventional Source Replaced: Wood

Natural Lighting Natural lighting from outside It is used to help you see through out your home. It replaces light bulbs Advantages: Reduces electricity cost and saves energy. Disadvantages: No light at night and do not have control over lighting.

Dual Flush Toilet Toilet that uses two buttons to flush different levels of water. It is used for human waste. It replaces a flush toilet Advantages: Saves water and clogs less. Disadvantages: Hard to install sometimes and toilet buttons can be confusing.

Reflective Roof Roof that reflects the sun’s heat off. It is used to reduce the heat coming into your home It replaces slate Advantages: Cooler inside your home and lower energy bills. Disadvantages: Can cause unwanted glare and make modestly increase heating cost in winter.

Composter Container that speeds up the break down of complex organic matter into soil. This replaces your leftover food thrown into the garbage Advantages: produces healthy topsoil, and practically free. Disadvantages: Can be smelly and requires time to maintain.
