2. Power Tower  A solar power tower works by having a large field of sun tracking mirrors, called heliostats. They all surround the tower and use the sun rays to direct them at the top of the tower. The heliostats direct all the sun rays to the top of the tower. The top of the tower has water or molten salt in it which usually gets heated to 550- 1500 degrees Celsius. The water then turns to steam which turns a turbine and generator the makes electricity.
