2 Global Cancer Burden Cancer is a global epidemic and a leading cause of death worldwide, accounting for 7.6 million deaths or around 13% of all deaths in Worldwide, cancer now causes more deaths than HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria combined. More than 70% of all cancer deaths occur in low- and middle-income countries.
