Last lesson recap… You have 10mins to finish your poster on goal setting. You need to make sure you have a sporting example for each letter.

Lesson Objectives To identify and describe the functions of the skeleton. To explain how physical activity and healthy lifestyles affect the skeleton and related joints. To learn the names of the main bones and types of joint.

Functions of the skeleton To give shape and support to the body therefore enabling good posture. To allow movement of the body by providing sites for muscle attachment and a system of levers. To protect internal organs. To produce red and white blood cells. To store minerals.

Task 1 In pairs Pick a person to be the live subject! You must now label their bones using the sheet provided. Use page 48 to help you.

Task 2 Label the picture of the skeleton.

PARTS OF SKELETON AXIAL SKELETON Cranium, Vertebral, ribs column and Pelvis APPENDICULAR SKELETON Limbs (Arms and Legs)

Task 3 Colour in the different parts of the skeleton on your diagram. Make sure you put a key on the side to remind you what the colours are for.

Homework COMPLETE ONLINE HOMEWORK! There are 2 quizzes – 1 that recaps work from last year and one on goal setting. Complete your goal setting poster Revise all your year 11 work for end of half term test.
