Safeguarding the rights of service users They are all vulnerable to abuse, due to their age or medical conditions. We need to safeguard the rights of people who use health and social care services. What do all of these people have in common? Care practitioners have a duty of care which is determined and influenced by legislation.

You will… Understand how legislation impacts on care settings. Understand how to support individuals to maintain their rights. Understand how personal hygiene, safety and security measures protect individuals. Understand the importance of the values of care and how they are applied.
