Educational Outreach Events –High School Shadowing Day –TEEMS (Together Exploring Engineering, Math, and Science) –GUTS (Girls Understanding Technology and Science) –Poster Competition –Take Your Daughters and Sons to Work Day. Goals –Inspire middle school and high school girls to pursue math and science –Help girls understand engineering as a career –Encourage female engineering students to pursue research –Help SWE give back to the community Contact Us!

GEARS Day! Girls in Engineering and Related Sciences Co-Chairs: Erin Kinnevy and Hilary Grosskopf A day for high school girls from Philadelphia and surrounding areas to meet women engineers at Penn, participate in fun engineering workshops, and socialize with other high school girls interested in math, science, and engineering! Date of GEARS Day: A Saturday in April, 2012 To be announced soon! Volunteer! Volunteers help with check-in, workshops, food, and planning. Our goal is to help high school girls understand the value of pursuing engineering in college and as a career (and to have fun!). Volunteer details and sign- up to come early next semester.

Held this February 2nd at Inn at Penn (6 - 9 pm) Concurrent with recruiting - best time to get all your questions answered, learn more about career possibilities, and have interesting conversations Get involved NOW: Join the Corporate Dinner committee, be a faculty liaison, help with marketing and logistics! This is a valuable experience for future leadership in Penn engineering
