The Shadows of the Messiah Titles of Messiah Image of God - Colossians 1:15 Glory of God - Colossians 1:15 Anointed One - Psalm 2:2 The LORD's Anointed - Psalm 2:2 New Creation - Midrash Shacher Tau

Counting Israel Exodus 30: The LORD also spoke to Moses, saying, "When you take a census of the sons of Israel to number them, then each one of them shall give a ransom for himself to the LORD, when you number them, so that there will be no plague among them when you number them. This is what everyone who is numbered shall give: half a shekel according to the shekel of the sanctuary (the shekel is twenty gerahs), half a shekel as a contribution to the LORD."

The Laver Exodus 30:18 You shall also make a laver of bronze, with its base of bronze, for washing; and you shall put it between the tent of meeting and the altar, and you shall put water in it.

Oil of Gladness Exodus 30:25 You shall make of these a holy anointing oil, a perfume mixture, the work of a perfumer; it shall be a holy anointing oil.

Anointing the King Exodus 30: It shall not be poured on anyone's body, nor shall you make any like it in the same proportions; it is holy, and it shall be holy to you. Whoever shall mix any like it or whoever puts any of it on a layman shall be cut off from his people.

Coronation of the King King David himself explained how to coronate a king: "Let Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet anoint him there as king over Israel, and blow the trumpet and say, 'Long live King Solomon!'" (1 Kings 1:34).

Coronation of the King The story of King Solomon's anointing illustrates that a king's coronation consists of three important components: 1. The anointing with oil 2. The blast of the shofar 3. The acclamation

Anointing with Oil The king of Israel takes the title of the LORD's Anointed One (mashiach) because of the anointing ritual.

The Blast of the Shofar The coronation of a king over Israel is heralded by a fanfare of shofar blasts. For this reason, Jewish tradition associates Rosh HaShanah (the Feast of Trumpets) with the kingship of God.

The Acclamation of the King Those present at a coronation express their loyalty to the newly crowned king with a shout of acclamation. Adonijah's supporters shouted, "Long live King Adonijah!" (1 Kings 1:25).

Incense Exodus 30:35 With it you shall make incense, a perfume, the work of a perfumer, salted, pure, and holy.

The Long Delay Exodus 32: 1 Now when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, the people assembled about Aaron and said to him, Come, make us a god who will go before us: as for this Moses, the man who brought us up from the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him."

Moses Intercedes Exodus 32: 11 Then Moses entreated the LORD his God, and said, "0 LORD, why does Your anger burn against Your people whom You have brought out from the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?"

Favor of Messiah Exodus 33:14 And He said, "My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest."

God Proclaims His Name Exodus 33: 18 Then Moses said, “I pray You, show me Your glory!"

God Proclaims His Name Exodus 34:6-7 Then the LORD passed by in front of him and proclaimed, "The LORD, the LORD God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth; who keeps lovingkindness for thousands, who forgives iniquity, transgression and sin; yet He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished, visiting the iniquity of fathers on the children and on the grandchildren to the third and fourth generations."

One: The LORD Exodus 34:6 Then the LORD passed by in front of him and proclaimed, "The LORD... "

Two: The LORD, the LORD Exodus 34:6 Then the LORD passed by in front of him and proclaimed, "The LORD, the LORD... "

Three God Exodus 34:6 Then the LORD passed by in front of him and proclaimed, "The LORD, the LORD God... "

Four: Compassionate Exodus 34:6 Then the LORD passed by in front of him and proclaimed, "The LORD, the LORD God, compassionate... "

Five: Gracious Exodus 34:6 Then the LORD passed by in front of him and proclaimed, "The LORD, the LORD God, compassionate and gracious... "

Six: Slow to Anger Exodus 34:6 Then the LORD passed by in front of him and proclaimed, "The LORD, the LORD God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger... "

Seven: Abounding in Living kindness Exodus 34:6-7 Then the LORD passed by in front of him and proclaimed, "The LORD, the LORD God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness... "

Eight: Abounding in Truth Exodus 34:6-7 Then the LORD passed by in front of him and proclaimed, "The LORD, the LORD God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth... "

Nine: Keeping Lovingkindness Exodus 34:6-7 Then the LORD passed by in front of him and proclaimed, "The LORD, the LORD God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingldndness and truth; who keeps lovingkindness for thousands... "

Ten: Forgiving Iniquity Exodus 34:6-7 Then the LORD passed by in front of him and proclaimed, "The LORD, the LORD God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth; who keeps lovingkindness for thousands, who forgives iniquity... "

Eleven: Forgiving Transgressions Exodus 34:6-7 Then the LORD passed by in front of him and proclaimed, "The LORD, the LORD God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth; who keeps lovingkindness for thousands, who forgives iniquity, transgression... "

Twelve: Forgiving Sin Exodus 34:6-7 Then the LORD passed by in front of him and proclaimed, "The LORD, the LORD God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth; who keeps lovingkindness for thousands, who forgives iniquity, transgression and sin.;."

Thirteen: Who Cleanses Exodus 34:6-7 Then the LORD passed by in front of him and proclaimed, "The LORD, the LORD God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth; who keeps lovingkindness for thousands, who forgives iniquity, transgression and sin; yet He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished, visiting the iniquity of fathers on the children and on the grandchildren to the third and fourth generations."

The Word Made Stone Exodus 34:1 Now the LORD said to Moses, "Cut out for yourself two stone tablets like the former ones, and I will write on the tablets the words that were on the former tablets which you shattered."

What Goes Down Must Go Up Exodus 34:4 So he cut out two stone tablets like the former ones, and Moses rose up early in the morning and went up to Mount Sinai, as the LORD had commanded him, and he took two stone tablets in his hand.

Coming Down the Mountain Exodus 34:29 It came about when Moses was coming down from Mount Sinai (and the two tablets of the testimony were in Moses' hand as he was coming down from the mountain), that Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone because of his speaking with Him.

The Signature We see the glory of the LORD reflected in the Messiah: ''And we, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit“ (2 Corinthians 3: 18).
