Behavior System Consequences for Inappropriate Behaviors: Verbal Warning (name on the board) Lunch Detention (check next to name) Removal from classroom (two checks next to name) Sent to the office and/or Parent/guardian contact by phone

Behavior System Continued Some Examples of Inappropriate Behaviors Are: Speaking to the teacher in a disrespectful manner or rude/sarcastic tone of voice Using inappropriate or vulgar language Throwing objects in class (pencils, books, paper, gum, etc.) Bringing beverages/water or empty bottles to class (concealed or unconcealed) Taking out cosmetics, compacts, brushes, lotions, perfumes, colognes, hair spray, etc.) Taking out contraband materials (cell phones, CD/MP3 players, headphones, games, etc.) Writing on or defacing any piece of furniture/wall in the room During computer instruction, going on other websites other than the ones instructed to do so. Constant disruption and calling out that interrupts the learning of others

Curriculum Reading –Read 180Read 180 –Read Naturally –X-Zone (Guided Reading) –On-line Resources for Guided Reading –Teen BizzTeen Bizz Homework: They will be required to read 2 stories/articles a week and answer the questions that follow. They need to hand them in on Wednesday and Friday.

Curriculum Math –Common Core Progress (6 th /8 th ) –Glencoe Math (6 th /8 th ) –Math 180 (7 th grade only) Math 180 –Math Triumphs (Alternative Standard Students) –Supplemental math materials –On-line resources

Curriculum Writing –Read 180-Writing piece –Writing supplemental material –Write Source materials They will be writing informative, narrative, and argumentative writing pieces this year.

Grading System 1. Report Cards will include percentages and letter grades (A through F) Grade Scale (Passing for course: 65%) –A – –B – –C – –D – –F – Grades cannot be changed after a marking period has ended with the exception of incompletes. Lowest percentage grade for a marking period is 50%. 2. Final Grade for the year will be based on an average of marking period percentages. 3. Evidence that will be used to score: Quizzes are given to check for understanding after a few lessons. Tests are given to check for mastery of unit content. Homework is given for lesson practice and to show understanding. Other assignments include notebook checks, projects, etc.

Homework –Homework will be collected to verify that it has been completed and will count towards your grade. Homework will be graded as follows: 2=Completion of homework and on time 1=Completion of homework, but not on time (late-defined as later that day or possibly the next day) 0=Homework was not handed in
