Our film was mostly aimed at a younger audience. Predominantly female. This is because we had a strong female lead character which breaks the stereotype.

How did we attract our audience? DAMAGED Holly Higgins

Marketing tools With our target audience there is two main age groups females between and then females between this means that we would need to use different aspects of the media in order to reach our audience so that they will go and view the film. With the younger people in our film you would look into using viral campaigns across different social media platforms in order to reach them. Places like ‘Twitter’ and ‘Facebook’ would be ideal as many young people spend time on the platforms in order to communicate with their friends. The spend time looking at different pages in order to see what is happening in their area and what they might be interested in doing or seeing. With the ability to be able to pass this information on to their friends efficiently would mean that they would be more likely to enjoy the film. With our older target audience you might look into appearing at film award or advertising in different magazines such as ‘ok’ and ‘hello’ these platforms are much more accessed by this age group in order to create a certain image of themselves. You may also look into having the creator or actors appear on TV in interviews on possible shows like ‘this morning’ or ‘loose women’. By mentioning possible awards that the film may have won or that it is nominated for within these advertising products you are likely to attract the audience as the will begin to believe that you film is something that they wish to see and spend money on. They might also be attracted by the characters that you are using so showing them our their name may also attract the audience.

Audience feedback We were happy with the fact that we had used the red ‘o’ inside most of our titles as it represented the blood aspect of the film. We were told that this had worked in our audience feedback giving us confidence that we had achieved what we had wanted. Our location was chosen to specifically portray certain parts of the film with the main characters being children we were shown their age by the fact that they were their and also shown that they were slightly older by them walking through the woods on their own.

Audience Feedback We wanted to portray the fathers alcoholism within our opening title sequence, in order to do this we wanted to use props to show his distress and iritic behaviour towards his missing child and wife. We have been informed by the feed back that this was done well and that the audience that we received the feedback from were impressed by the us of props. We wanted to portray our characters age through their clothes as well as location and allowing the actors to chose their own clothing allowed them to portray the personality that they were going to put across to the audience. As well as them also being of similar age to the characters that they were playing they were showing their age through clothing choice. This was once again interpreted the way we intended it to be by the audience resulting in that part of our film being sucessful.

Audience feedback In terms of our technical aspects of production we wished to included and 360 degree spinning shot to show the distortion of the situation and confusion of our main character. This we were told was done well and did in fact create the effect that we wanted. We did however struggle with making more of our shots looking and feeling more inventive in order to fit in with our theme. This I and the audience felt let it down slightly and maybe took away the more creepy/ thriller aspects of the film. Despite this feedback most was positive making me believe that we have successfully created an opening title sequence that addresses the needs of the audience in the right way incorporating more of a psychological feel to the opening title sequence. This is what we had set out to achieve and I believe that this has been done.
