1 Evaluation Question 5 Part A How you would reach your audience through marketing- so which marketing tools does your audience connect/interact with?

2 Our film ‘Hooker’ is targeted to audience members from the age of 15-30. From research, within this social group they interact with the media by using mainly the internet. This is where we will invest in pull advertising; using interactive marketing techniques such as creating pages on social network sites such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and tumblr; where we showcase information and keep the audience updated with news, also to post behind the scenes video blogs to interviews with the cast; which will help contribute through ‘word and mouth’. 3 Continued… We would also take the opportunity to showcase our film using test screenings around the UK in popular picture houses, this is where we can get audience feedback and we could gather questionnaires to see what they liked about it and what could be improved. We would promote our film through independent film festivals such as Brighton CineCity film festival, the fact that our film is set in Brighton could create a big buzz epically. This is where we can gain media attention which then goes on to spread word about our film. This would generate reviews and opinions through film websites such as, movie web or imdb. Or even film magazines such as Total Film or Empire. Or even film magazines such as Total Film or Empire. A more traditional way of marketing using push advertising, will give us the chance to advertise our film physically. Creating posters and distributing them around the UK from picture houses, cinemas, shopping centres, pubs, bars, university’s, this gives the audience a more personal, physical view.

4 How will you attract your audience to watch your specific film? To attract our target audience we will use our unique selling points which are our starring actors. When it comes to casting, I have one actress in mind who could star in our film, and cast as the character of Olivia Hudson (the girl in the opening title sequence). The actress in mind is Kaya Scodelario, my reasons being the fact that she is an up-coming highly recognised British actress, previously starring as Effy in the TV series Skins. Her role in skins involves similar situations that happen in our film. Also the fact that Skins target the same audience as we do, it will give our film a massive array of recognition within that audience and also film critics. 5 Continued… My choice of actor to play the role of Scott Collier is the critically acclaimed British independent film awards winner Sam Riley, who has previously starred as Pinkie in Brighton Rock (2010) and Ian in Control (2007). His performance in Brighton Rock as a troubled gang member and his dark looks gave me the impression he could be cast as our antagonist. 6 Continued… British independent film winner, director Paul Andrew Williams who directed award winning British film London to Brighton, would be my first choice to direct our film Hooker. This is because he has previously written, directed and specialises in British horror/thriller films. Because London to Brighton shares similar elements to our film Hooker and revolves around the same issues, I feel the audience of London to Brighton would be interested in Hooker and again this is a unique selling point helping to gain more audience.
