In Finland: results from the research The pupils from the fifth and sixth grades examined their own water usage at home, as well as the water consumption in Finland in general. On average people use water per person as follows:. Toilet 40 litres a day per person. For washing oneself 60 litres a day per person. Laundering 20 litres a day per person. Kitchen 35 litres a day per person

That is altogether 155 litres a day per person! Water consumption varies a lot in different households. In ranges from 60 litres to 270 litres a day per person. Objective standard is about 130 litres a day per person. If your tap or water pipes are leaking, you should fix them. If the toilet leaks continually it costs 7500 € a year. Dropping tap costs 75 € a year, and so on.
