City Council Meeting – October 4, 2011 WORKSHOP SESSION [5:00PM] – Council will receive and discuss an update on the progress of the Economic Development Ad Hoc Committee.

The Ad Hoc Committee is grateful for the City Council’s support and asks for continued cooperation in moving forward. Mayor J. Turner City Manager Bill Baine Councilmember Wayne Barrett Councilmember Don Johnson

The committee is developing: Legal Framework for Organization Economic Development Timeline Job description for the Economic Development Director’s Position Proposed Incentives Policy

Walker County Sam Houston State University Huntsville Memorial Hospital

To develop a foundation for economic development goals, the committee seeks $200,000 per year over the next five years.

A Call for Partners to Make Similar Statements of Support

The Committee proposes that 50% of Gas/Oil City Revenue (if any) be invested by ordinance in Economic Development operations.
