STEP #1 Determine the conjugation of the verb
Look at the infinitive: if it ends in: -are it is 1 st Conj. -ēre it is 2 nd Conj. -ere it is 3 rd Conj. -ire it is 4 th Conj.
STEP #2 if it is a 1 st conjugation verb, the endings are:
abamabasabat abamu s abatisabant

STEP #3 if it is a 2 nd or a 3 rd conjugation verb, the endings are:
eba m ebasebat ebam us ebati s ebant

ageba m agebasagebat agebam us agebatis ageban t FOR EXAMPLE: ago, agere
STEP #4 if it is a 4 th conjugation verb, the endings are:

dormieba m dormiebasdormiebat dormiebamu s dormiebatisdormiebant FOR EXAMPLE: dormio, dormire
