Infrastructure – Network Connectivity and Interdependencies Our energy, transport, water, and ICT networks support services are vital to our health and wellbeing and economy prosperity. The effect of climate change on these infrastructure systems will be varied. They are likely to be impacted by an increase in disruptive events such as flooding, landslides, drought, and heatwaves. Our infrastructure is closely inter-linked and failure in any area can lead to wider disruption across these networks.

Adaptation Scotland is a programme funded by the Scottish Government and delivered by Sniffer 250,000 more households at significant risk by 2035 England Flood risk: Continuing development on the floodplain is increasing the reliance on flood defences. Under-investment in these defences is storing up costs and risks for the future. Hundreds of flood defence projects are currently on hold. Despite recent improvements in asset management, three-quarters of existing flood defences are not being sufficiently maintained. problem for capital spend and problem for revenue spend Climate Change: A Financial Challenge
