PEOPLE THAT WANTED THE ENGLISH THRONE

HAROLD GODWINSON The first person to claim the throne of England was Harold Godwinson, He was King Edward’s brother in law and the second in command when Edward was alive.

WILLIAM THE DUKE OF NORMANDY When William heard about the news of Edwards death he thought that he should be the next king because he was Edward's distance cousin.

HARALD HARDRADA, KING OF NORWAY His friend,Harthacnut (Danish ruler of England), said that when he dies he can be the next in throne, so Herald Hardrada also thought that he was the rightful ruler of England.
