The capital of Scotland is Edinburgh, but the largest city is Glasgow. Since 1996, Scotland is divided into 32 administrative units called counties. The official language is English and Gaelic. The head of state is Queen Elizabeth II

Edinburgh Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland, and also showcase of the whole country with a rich cultural and economic life. Edinburgh is situated in the hills and extinct volcanoes. In Edinburgh are many interesting places. One of them is Edinburgh Castle is one of the most powerful and oldest fortresses in Britain. It is not only the symbol of Edinburgh but throughout Scotland. Fortress is situated on a rocky hill in the city center.

Glasgow Glasgow is the largest city in Scotland. There is a lot of tourist attractions. One of them is the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, which is the oldest museum in Scotland, having one of the largest art collections in Europe.
