2 Scotland is a country that is part of the United Kingdom.
Edinburgh, the country's capital and second largest city, is one of Europe's largest financial centres.

3 Royal standard and flag
Royal Standard depict heraldic red lion on a gold field surrounded by a red double border sprouted lilies. Scotland’s flag is an image of a white St. Andrew's cross on a sky-blue cloth.

4 Bagpipes Bagpipe - a national musical instrument, the unofficial symbol of Scotland.

5 Thistle Thistle flower is semi-official national symbol of Scotland and is depicted, in particular, banknotes. According to legend, in the XIII century coastal settlements Scots suffered from Viking raids. Once able to avoid unexpected night attack due to the fact that the Vikings have gone barefoot in the bush of Scotch thistle, than gave themselves.

6 Nessie Nessie is the most famous and mysterious theme of Scottish legends. Loch Ness Monster - the water monster, according to legend, living in Scotland's Loch Ness lake.

7 Tartan Tartan is a fabric with an ornament of the horizontal and vertical stripes. From the tissue with the ornamentation national dress of Scotland and kilts are sewn in particular, in Russia it is called a “plaid”.
