What federal laws are in place to protect this ecosystem? 1)The Clean Water Act (1972) is the major law protecting water quality. Several CWA programs address "nonpoint-source" pollution, which is the most prevalent type of pollution associated with agriculture -2)The Safe Drinkin Water Act(SDWA) of 1974 requires the EPA to set standards for drinking-water quality and requirements for water treatment by public water systems. -3)The Total Maximum Daily Load provisions of the Clean Water Act are intended to be the second line of defense for protecting the quality of surface-water resources. -4)The Clean Air Act (CAA) of 1970 sets limits on how much of a pollutant can be in the air anywhere in the United States. - The Food Quality Protection Act(1996) amended FIFRA to eliminate inconsistencies between it and the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act of 1938 (which regulates pesticide residues on food). -5)The Endangered Species Act(ESA) of 1973 conserves the ecosystems upon which endangered and threatened species (wildlife and plants) depend. -6)The Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), commonly known as Superfund, was enacted in 1980 to provide broad Federal authority to respond to releases of hazardous substances that might endanger public health. -7)The Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) of 1947 provides direct controls over the sale and use of pesticides. Under FIFRA, all pesticides must be approved by EPA through a mandatory registration process. -8)The Coastal Zone Management Act Reauthorization Amendments (CZARA) of 1990 added nonpoint-source water pollution requirements to the Coastal Zone Management Act of )The Nonpoint Source Program(Section 319) requires States to develop nonpoint-source management programs. Nonpoint-source control plans can include State regulatory measures, but usually emphasize voluntary actions like those used in USDA conservation programs.

What do these laws require of the people who live, work, or recreate in this ecosystem -Rule One: This rule requirers the people who live and work to take care of their water. They arent allowed to pollute their water. -Rule Two: This requires people to treat the water they drink. -Rule Three: Its a second line of defense to keep the drinking water clean. -Rule Four: This requires to people to think about a healther way to make suff without polluting the air so much. -Rule Five : People must help save a species that indagered even if their way is not killing the animal. -Rule Six: People must watch what they are putting in the air. -Rule Seven: People must put a certain kind of pesticides on their plant. People must be mindful of the earth. -Rule Eight: Again this is for clean water. People must watch what They put in the water

Who enforces these laws? Federal law relating to the protection of the environment is administered primarily by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which is represented in legal matters by the U.S. Department of Justice.
