Purpose 1. Husband and wife grow in an union Remain faithful to each other until death. 2. Accept children Intend to raise them in the faith

Ministers of Matrimony Bride and Groom are the ministers. Priest acts as a witness to the covenant.

Rite of Matrimony  Ministers (husband/wife)  Exchange of vows  Nuptial Blessing Blessing given by the priest to the married couple on behalf of the Church.

Symbols  The bride and groom exchange wedding rings as a sign of their permanent commitment to each other.
