The First Step Marriage is a huge step for anyone and planning your wedding is a busy time. I have developed my Marriage Celebrancy Service to make it as easy as possible for you to plan your wedding. My Marriage Celebrancy Service starts with a free initial meeting between myself and the two people to be married to decide if I am the right celebrant for your day One of my legal obligations at our first meeting is to give you a compulsory brochure entitled “Happily Ever…before and after….”.

Marriage Formalities There are some legal formalities that you must do to comply with The Marriage Act of Notice of Intention to Marry form Legal documents of identification You are required to have two witnesses who are over the age of eighteen. I will be able to advise you of these and other formalities involved in marriage. Sometimes interpreters are required at the initial interview and the ceremony itself.

Ceremony Options There is no one single ceremony structure. Some legally required parts of the ceremony need to occur in a certain order, but you have many options for the non-legal aspects I can provide you with many different options for Introductions, Readings, Poems, Blessings and Rituals, and help you with choices to create the perfect ceremony Ceremonies normally take approximately minutes to complete, including the signing of the register and certificates Music can also play a major part in any ceremony, expressing how you feel today and how you will feel together - music that reflects you Whatever style of wedding you desire, I will help make your day a wonderful, special time so that you will look back on this day in years to come and truly appreciate that it was indeed a Magic Moment!

Sand Ceremony This ritual is also known as a unity sand ceremony It symbolizes is the inseparable nature of marriage The Sand Ceremony is usually part of the main wedding ceremony and is supposed to be their first task as a married couple During the wedding sand ceremony, the couples take turns pouring from their individual vases into the central vase, creating a layered effect Finally, they pour the remainder of the sand into the vase at the same time so that the two colours combine and cannot be separated, symbolizing their unity in marriage Three variations on a wedding sand ceremony: - religious - parent’s - children’s

Candle Ceremony The candle ceremony or commonly known as the Unity Candle ceremony The bride and groom each take a lit candle and simultaneously light a third “larger” unity candle, symbolizing their unity and commitment to each other There are many variations to this ceremony which can include immediate family members or every guest invited The unity candle ceremony is non-denominational, which means it has no religious significance

Rituals and Blessings There are many rituals and Blessings that can be a major part of your ceremony. They can add a layer of richness and meaning to any ceremony. Here are a few more ideas to consider: - rose ceremony - wine or tea ceremony - circling Together we can find that ritual, blessing that speaks and resonates with you. Here are just a few examples of the variety that we can choose from: –Celtic Blessing –Buddhist Blessing –American Indian Blessing –Indigenous Blessing –Hindu Blessing

Thoughts and Views Your feedback is important to me, as I want to make your day just perfect I appreciate the time that you have taken out of your busy schedule There are no shortcuts to a well prepared, successful ceremony
