3. Why you need a Cayman registered marriage certificate, and how to get it!
Each of our wedding packages include the Registered Marriage Certificate which is the proof that you were legally married in the Cayman Islands, and your marriage has been recorded. Should you wish a 2nd copy you need only contact us and we will have it on it's way in no time.
If you were married by another Marriage Officer, and you did NOT receive the government issued Registered Marriage Certificate, then write to us anyway and we will get you this important document for a small charge. You will need this document, called an RMC for short, when you return home to 1) change your name on your passport 2) put your married name on your Driver's License, 3) inform Social Security and your insurance companies, and bank, of your change in status.

4. Why you need a Cayman registered marriage certificate, and how to get it!
The Registered Marriage Certificate is the document you receive after your ceremony has taken place, and once your Civil Registrar/Marriage Officer has filed your marriage with the Public Records office called the General Registry. The modern RMC has many security features. For example, it cannot be photocopied.
A Cayman Islands Marriage Certificate is legal world wide. In some cases, but not the USA or any Commonwealth Country, you might need an Apostille affixed to your RMC. This is a special government stamp. If you live in some Central or South American countries, some European countries, or some parts of Asia and were married in the Cayman Islands, check with your Consulate or Embassy as to whether you need an Apostille.
