Gaining

Self Awareness Is having a clear perception of your personality, including strenghts, weakness, thoughts, beliefs, motivation, and emotions.

Are you off course? Three steps to help you get back on track towards your goals. IDENTIFY 1.What habits do I have that will sabotage my success? 2.What beliefs do I have that get me off course? 3.How can I consistently make wise choices?

Habits that Sabotage Success Absence Priorities Tardiness Procrastination Confusion/Clarity Anxiety

Unconscious Forces Amygdala is deep in the middle of the brain; storing emotionally charged unconscious memories. Our brain unconsciously relates past experiences with new experiences causing bad choices.

Other Terms for Unconscious Forces Unconscious Inner Forces Ego Defenses Conditioned Responses Programs Mental Tapes Blind Spots Schemas Life-Traps *The best way to describe unconscious internal forces is associating it to theater. A script tells an actor what words, actions, and emotions to perform onstage.

Scripts Emotional Patterns Emotional Patterns Core Beliefs Thought Patterns Behavior Patterns Behavior Patterns

How We Wrote Our Scripts It is unknown exactly how our life scripts were written but there are 3 reasonable explanations. 1.How others responded to us as children. 2. What significant adults in our lives said to us through… -attributions- tell us how we “are” or “should be” -Injunctions- what we are not 3.Observing behavior of important adults in our lives. In some circumstances; our environment as children set us up to write self-defeating unconscious scripts

Make a List of Self- Defeating Habits

Test Anxiety Procrastination Defensiveness Addiction

Causes…..

Identify and Fix Your Habits
