Presentation transcript:

What’s it for? You use it when you are talking about an action in that past that happened before another action that is also in the past.

How do you do this nonsense? In Spanish, you use the imperfect tense of the verb haber with a past participle. Haber + verb (ado, ido)

habÍa hablado habÍamos hablado habÍas hablado habÍa hablado habÍan hablado

So, let’s do an example. When the Popo arrived, Desmond had already started stripping. In Spanish- Cuando los policias llegaron, Desmond habÍa empesado a desvertirse.

Because you are most likely falling asleep with boredom at this point, we are pleased to present you with some entertainment via Desmond. This will also be an educational experience, as it goes along with the example in the last slide. WAKE UP!!!

And then Desmond got arrested. The end.

AND NOW…

Have you a decent understanding? If so, it is time to TEST YOUR KNOWLEDGE! Here’s how the game works. You’ll get the first and second half of each of 8 sentences. YOUR job is to interpret the sentences to see what makes sense and put the sentences back together. The first group to complete this receives CANDY!

It’s game time.
