 First generation college student  Second year graduate student at Howard University  Research Interest  Diversity Recruitment  Positive Psychology  The Integration of Technology and Education

 Pieces – The various elements of a black man.  ME – The representation of black men when you encounter and black male.

 Formulating the idea  Developing the plan  Revising the plan  Execute the plan

 “Pieces of Me”, will provide a visual exploration into the journey of African American male school psychology students.  This production will encompass several short interviews, stories and prospective of the road to become a School Psychologist.

 The purpose of this production is to showcase experiences of students of color by engaging in issues surrounding racism, discrimination, gender and the perceptions of African American males.

 How many African American Male School Psychologist are there within the 3% of African American representation in School Psychology?  Is there an accurate count?  QTNA

 A major goal of this showcase is to provide viewers with insight on the issues of being a double minority within a profession and the importance of diversity recruitment.  Participants will learn how this information can be useful in addressing issues male African American School Psychology students encounter as well as assisting with multicultural competence.
