Season We are in 5A Continental League South. We have 10 games this year but only 9 are scheduled. 10 th game will be decided after week 9.

Robert Doyle Coaching football for 16 years Started in CA at Kaiser High School - LB and QB Won a State Title 7 years at PHS - Freshman, LB, DC, OL, DL Won a State Title 5th year at Legend

Vision We will be a first class program that creates leaders and positive citizens. The philosophy of Legend Football is that we will help create dynamic young adults with the lessons learned on the football field. It is extremely important to teach the student- athletes to live a balanced life and help them to handle successes and failures in life. Learning these lessons as they apply to football is an authentic experience. These leadership skills are being built together with the football staff, administration, high school staff, peers, and parents. This cannot happen without everyone involved inspiring these young men. This is like our classroom and we will treat it like a classroom environment.

Philosophy The philosophy of Legend Football is that we will help create a player with a strong foundation of skills at the younger levels and progressively add to their skill development each year. As the skills are introduced, along with team strategies, the joy of playing the game and winning will naturally follow. This process will be accomplished in a positive, structured, and disciplined environment in an attempt to help the players grow as individuals as well as football players.

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company, a church, a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past. We cannot change the fact that people will act a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10 percent what happens to me and 90 percent how I react to it. And so it is with you –we are in charge of our attitudes. -Charles SwindollAttitude

No Excuses

Team If we work as a team, we will accomplish great things. We are going to spend a lot of time developing a “team” mentality. Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success. - Henry Ford o Be enthusiastic o Know your assignment o Play tough and physical o One play at a time

Decisions 1.What is best for the team 2.What is best for the individual

Offense We will operate as a multiple offensive scheme. We will use multiple formations, personnel, and motion with a limited number of blocking schemes. The scheme will include one, two, and three back sets with misdirection and a power run game. The purpose of the multiple schemes is to enable us to utilize our personnel and to create favorable match-ups while stretching the defense horizontally, controlling the ball and the clock. This will be achieved through the balanced use of run and pass. We will be a physically and mentally tough unit that will be in better condition than our opponent and win the war of attrition. We will play with a fast-paced approach and with great intensity and enthusiasm. We will do a few things well rather than many with mediocrity. We will have a complete and diverse offensive package, but only feature what we can do well and execute to perfection. We will also adjust our offense to align with our personnel on a yearly basis. We must utilize the strengths of our players in order to obtain the maximum results.

Defense We will be an attacking defense, taking chances when the odds and match-ups are in our favor. We want the offense to adjust to our defensive play. We will base out of a 4-2 defense with the flexibility to use the 3-4. This will allow us to play to the strengths of our athletes. We will adjust our defense to align with our personnel on a yearly basis. We will need to be in better shape than our opponent to win the 4 th quarter battles when they are trying to control the clock.

Special Teams We will be sound in the kicking game and take chances when needed. One out of every five plays is in the kicking game. Special teams is where the momentum of a game can be swung in our favor. We believe that this is a phase in which our best athletes must be involved.

Meetings will be held weekly in-season (we will watch film together at this time, as well) and monthly out of season, starting in February.
