The Bible is God’s Code of Judgment for Mankind Memorial Day reminds us of our soldiers who died serving this country in war to keep us free from our enemies. There are many similarities between the characteristics of the life of a soldier and that of a Christian in which he will be judged by a higher standard than himself. Soldiers Enlist to Serve their Country Here is an example of what a soldier promises when he enlists in the military, “I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign, and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to the regulations and the uniform code of military justice, so help me God.” You now belong to the United States of America.

Christians Enlist to Serve the Lord When we decided to obey the Lord’s commission to be baptized, we enlisted in the Lord’s army. If you missed one of them, or did it for the wrong reason you do not qualify to be in the Lord’s army or receive the many blessings of enlistment including the forgiveness of sins.
