What are Adjectives? Adjectives are modifiers. They modify nouns or pronouns. This means they tell us more about how a noun or pronoun looks or behaves.

Verb A verb is a word that expresses action or state of being and you need this to make a sentence! An Action Verb tells what someone or something does… Some express Physical Action…to write, to swim, to climb Some express Mental Action…to think, to guess, to consider

Transitive Verb Is an action verb that is followed by a word or words that answer the question WHAT? OR WHOM? The dancer performed the most difficult movements. (The action verb performed is followed by the noun movements, …which answers the question WHAT?)

Intransitive Verb An action verb that IS NOT followed by words that answer the question What? Or Whom? The dancer performed gracefully. (The action verb performed is followed by a word that tells how…NOT WHAT OR WHOM?)

Questions… Smith followed the recipe carefully. Kathleen Battle, the opera star, sings amazingly well. The red ants fought the black ants. My sister plays rugby every Sunday.
