2 WHAT IS SIGNIFICANT ABOUT VERBS?  A verb is an important part of every sentence.  No sentence is complete without a verb (and a subject noun).  A verb tells what someone or something does or is. In other words, a verb shows action or condition.

3 ACTION VERBS Action verbs tell what a person has done or is doing; they’re actions or activities that can be completed Examples:  The doctor treated the patient.  She found a shard of pottery.

4 CONDITION VERBS Condition verbs link a noun or pronoun with words that describe the condition of the noun or pronoun. Example: 1.The Egyptian ruins were spectacular The Egyptian ruins were spectacular 2. He is my brother. He is my brother.

5 PRACTICE 1.Jack climbed the hill. 2.My family is nice 3.Winter break is coming. 4.Robin shot his arrow. 5.Spelling tests can be hard. 6.I put lights on my house
