The number of deaths related to heroin use in the county rose to a high of 12 in 2012, the latest data available. In addition, six deaths were attributed to methamphetamine abuse and three (3) to cocaine use. From 2008 to 2012, aAdmissions for treatment were highest in the county for marijuana, followed by methamphetamine, heroin, controlled prescription drugs, and cocaine. The number of indoor marijuana plants seized in Washington County ranged from five (5) plants in 2008 to 2,089 plants in Outdoor plants seized in the county dropped from a high of 3,137 plants in 2007 to 25 plants in The number of medical marijuana cardholders in Washington County grew more than fivefold from April 2006 (726) to October 2013 (4,142).
