WASH YOUR BODY WASH YOUR HANDS OFTEN – BEFORE YOU EAT – AFTER USING THE BATHROOM – AFTER COUGHING/SNEEZING Brush your teeth 2x/day (and floss daily) Take a shower or bath daily (or every other day) CLEAN CLOTHES EVERY DAY
STAY HOME if….
STAY HOME IF….. HAVE A FEVER Vomiting or Diarrhea Rash (unexplained) Contagious Illness

Use Vaseline & Drink more
Headaches

Sore Throat
Drink Water or Gargle

Cough into your sleeve
Eat Drink Exercise Bathroom
Cuts and Scrapes
Looks bad at first Clean/wash dirt & blood yourself Add a band aid & vaseline in your classroom See the nurse if too large for classroom band aid, or on your face
Pinch your nose 3-5 minutes Don’t move Keep your head straight Wash up when done Change clothes if blood DRINK MORE WATER (sign of a dry nose) If Large or doesn’t stop, Call the nurse to you!
Injuries
Hurt a LOT at first Check with an Adult – No Blood – Can move and walk Resting may Help IF NOT BETTER AFTER 30 MINUTES Or An ADULT sends you
Itchy Heads IF YOUR HEAD ITCHES… GET IT CHECKED BY THE NURSE TO PREVENT HEAD LICE: Don’t share combs or hats Store your hat in your coat sleeve Keep long hair tied up Bring your own pillow to sleepovers
You can do a Lot for yourself! Your job is to be in school – That means in class with your teacher Everyone gets sick or injured – Not all need a nurse, going or staying home Learning to take care of yourself is part of growing up
