How do we do that and how can you help us to do that? Bonnie Green, Chair: Richmond LINk

Richmond LINk How do we influence the improvement of local care and health? By involving and engaging with people in Richmond so that they and we can influence the health and social care services commissioned and provided for us

So what is Richmond LINk? Local Involvement Network –an independent network that listens, monitors, participates, reviews, holds to account –one for every borough in the England –Government initiative as a replacement for earlier schemes for patient and public involvement which now includes social care –we have certain legal powers, ie to Enter & View

Richmond LINk How are we doing this? we sign up members – individual and organisational have an elected Steering Committee – all volunteers, all with different experiences and interests we’re supported by a Host Team based at RCVS we listen to members’ concerns locally and have set up groups to respond giving more members more opportunities to get involved we organise public meetings to raise/discuss issues we represent patients and the public on local and sector boards, committees, reviews of services e.g recent Mental Health Services reviews, respond to consultations

Richmond LINk Hot Topics What are our hot topics? Local and sector service developments, ie SWL Healthcare Review, Polysystems, HRCH SDS Patient transport Mental health reviews Quality Accounts Quality of elderly care nursing in hospital The next issue raised by public concern?
