What is a Locality Partnership? How did we get here? What is next?

Reflects a geographic locality Membership – local people along with partnership officers with a local remit, plus link to North Ayrshire level Appropriate decision-making at a local level Better relationship between those who deliver and receive services Maximise the knowledge, talents and experience of local people Address local need

Develop a Locality Plan based on agreed local priorities, monitor and review actions Influence and improve delivery of services provided within the Locality to support their alignment with the Locality Plan Inform the work of Elected Members within the Locality Develop and implement Participatory Budgeting in relation to monies delegated to the Locality Partnership Engage regularly with CPP Board to review developments and share success Promote and consider the impact of Community Planning partner strategies, and policies at Locality level.

Promote and support activities that address local issues and grow community capacity, empowerment and volunteering, and to support local communities and organisations in aligning their work in support of the priorities of the Locality Plan Listen to, consult and represent local communities in Locality Support the role of Community Councils in aligning their work in support of the priorities of the Locality Plan To name new streets within the Locality To administer the disbursement of any grant or other financial payment to local organisations or individuals from within the area in terms of the relevant grants schemes. Respond to consultations on matters affecting the Locality.

Covers all of the communities within Arran. Chair: Cllr John Bruce Three Elected Members One Community Council Chair Two Community Representatives Partnership Officers: Senior Lead Officer Health and Social Care Third Sector Interface Fire and Rescue Police Scotland Connected Communities Lead Officer and Support Officer Co-opted members

8 How did we get here? National policy – Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015 Consultation process – accredited by Consultation Institute – redraft in response to consultation North Ayrshire Council and Community Planning Board approval

9 What is next? Agree community representatives
Identify local priorities – output of consultation, data analysis, discussion on local priorities Develop locality plans Link with Community Planning Partnership Deliver local priorities

10 Locality Plan will not. . . Contain everything that is relevant to the locality Be a wish list Cover “business as usual” Focus only on delivery by other organisations Replace all other partnership working

11 The Locality Plan will. . . Be focused, prioritised, locally relevant and evidence based priorities Short term and longer term Link to health and social care, community learning and development Tackle inequalities Be about partnership working Agree actions to tackle priorities, supported by localities and partnership organisations
